City = Medium is a multi-layered project exploring the artistic use of the city, for example, light infosystems on buildings, artistic interventions and the recycling of city “products” into different forms.

The project was launched in 2011 with a thesis at the VŠUP Prague. The book Město = Médium / Město a světlo (City = Medium / City and Light, Vladimir 518, Jan Matoušek, Markéta Vinglerová), charting the history of light interventions in urban structures from the early 20th century until the present, was published in 2012. In 2014 the artists keep on exploring the relationship between the city and light in both digital and purely primitive form.
